Who we are

Notre Dame Community Outreach Association is a registered not-for-profit, community-based and non-government Oganisation, founded in 2010. It started by a group of local volunteers trying to improve the condition of the people of Uganda, and now we have a network of international volunteers and sponsor (see below).

​

The association is aimed to reduce poverty related suffering among the neediest and marginalised communities of Uganda.

​

The organisation's major aim is to improve the quality of life of the neediest and marginalised groups of people in Uganda through: Education with a local High School, facility-based care for sanitation and water, HIV/AIDS patients, Community Based Initiatives on Food security, Nutrition and Sustainable Agriculture, Psychosocial support to children affected by HIV/AIDS, among others.

An economically empowered community where poverty will not exist and all members will be self-reliant and inter-dependent.

Mission 


To enhance and maximize the potential of each member through active participation in development initiatives, to reduce poverty and diseases,rehabilitation of persons with disability and improve access to basic human needs.

The Association: History

Objectives

Empowering Youth Since 2010

1. To build the capacities of the rural underprivileged schools, youth and orphans and enable them to realize their full potential. 

​

2. To build and support primary and secondary educational institutions that will enable orphans, poor disadvantaged girls and boys and young adults to acquire skills that will make them realize their dreams.


3. To promote skills development at all levels in computers, tailoring, handicraft, knitting, agriculture, mechanics, building and construction.

​

4. To promote, maintain and develop a network of health and educational improvements in the country, especially in Masaka, and to ensure the effective participation of people.

​

5. To promote agriculture.

​

6. To promote cooperation with Humanitarian organizations.

​

7. To procure and distribute relief for people in need.

​

8. To receive donations, grants or gifts, subscriptions, legacies of all kinds for the promotion of the Organization’s objectives.

​

9. To establish information centers.

​

10. To provide individual and family counseling services.

​

11. To promote environmental protection and ecological programs.

​

12. To buy land and assets and build training, education and health centers for the benefit of the community being served.

​

13. To promote volunteerism and equip volunteers with all the necessary techniques to help the community.

​

14. To support the youth and instill in them the culture of serving the community.


15. To become advocates for the voiceless and the oppressed in the society on matters of justice.


16. To promote safe and clean water and sanitation.


17. To subscribe to any local or other charities and to grant donations for any good public purpose in support of widows, orphans and disadvantaged
