High School: Text

Welcome!

Notre Dame High School was founded by a group of voluntary educators and teachers who felt the need to help the disadvantaged and orphaned children on the streets and in very poor homes, and those whose parents died of AIDS. The school is founded on the pillars of Christian faith, and is both a secondary and a vocational school. It accommodates around 500 pupils both females and males - some of them coming as far away as Kenya and Tanzania for their education.

The school enrolls children from all walks of life, regardless of tribe, religion, political beliefs, creed or other. It is both, a day and a boarding school for boys and girls, offering both formal and vocational studies, at "O" and "A" Level.

Mission

Our mission is to raise the next generation of Ugandans by pursuing them excellence in academic and practical skills, integrity in conduct and moral values so that each child of our school will become a responsible and productive citizen of Uganda and the World.

Discipline-training Statement

At Notre Dame High School, we endeavour to train our students to become good leaders by provision of conductive environment to students pursuing excellence in academic and practical skills and in which the rights and needs of students are met and protected.
On our school,

  • the children learn and the teachers teach.

  • Children make choices and take the responsibility to experience the consequences of these choices in order to build moral character.

We are teaching our students with a Biblical perspective. Our slogan is Proverbs 22:6 "Teach your children to choose the right path, and when they are older they remain upon it."

Basic Discipline

We are training the hearts of our students and creating a moral bank within them. We strive to educate them well enough that they will know how to govern themselves from within, rather than from the outside.

We are training the minds of our students by providing them formal education. We are training the body of our students we care for by promoting extra-curricular activities like sports, music, creative arts, crafts, and many others.
